This past weekend on September 22, 2018 we welcomed in the The Autumn Equinox, a point of perfect balance on the calendar of the year. Equinoxes take place twice a year, once in the Fall and again in the Spring, when night and day are of equal length and in perfect equilibrium. Here we find a total balance between dark and light in the physical world and in nature. Balance is a quality and inner experience as well that we are often striving towards optimizing in all areas of life and in our inner experience.
We as an IB School here in San Francisco, have a great commitment to balance through the entire calendar year as this is a component of the International Baccalaureate learner profile. The International Baccalaureate Programme aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. This program is one of the foundations of the academic approach here at La Scuola.
IB schools, programs and curriculums encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners.
